Lovely restaurant. They seem to take pride in providing excellent customer service. From when I called the restaurant, to arrival to when my meal was completed they were very attentive. The inside of the restaurant is tight but they accommodated my family of 5 (including an infant). The food seems to be made fresh. So don’t come here if you’re in a hurry or already starving. The food was slow to arrive. When it did arrive it was presented well and was tasty. That said, I found the price point to be quite pricey! I was NOT expecting nearly $40 a plate for chicken entrees. Maybe that price point for oxtail or whole fish but not stewed chicken. Phew.

Definitely 5 stars across the board!!! From the ambiance to the atmosphere to the impeccable service; everything was amazing. And let’s talk about the Oxtails falling off the bone and the homemade Sorrel . We will definitely be back. Thanks for making our anniversary one for the books ❤️

I encourage customers of this establishment to PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR BILL when closing out.

My husband and I found this place by the sign out by the road and decided to give it a try. We were greeted by a welcoming and charismatic man and taken to a table. The place was nice and clean but empty of customers. We were informed that the menu was only available on their website, so we took a look and ordered a Coke ($7), a Diet Coke ($7), the (8) jerk chicken wings ($15) and the coco bread ($7) to start, at the recommendation of the server. Both were a good choice. The wings were tender, fall off the bone and seasoned well with a building heat and the coco bread was fluffy and buttery. My husband then ordered the curry goat ($39) and I ordered the oxtail ($39) for our entrees. Both were tender with good flavor, but the oxtail gravy stole the show. Deep brown in color, not too much oil rendered from the oxtail fat leftover and cloves of garlicky slow cooked goodness. The curry goat was definitely lacking in our opinion, but we couldn’t place what was missing, it was just a pasty, almost grainy texture, but still tender. The rice and peas and the plantains are always a good side dish. Overall, it was a nice experience and the service was top notch, as I would hope with an automated 20% tip for all checks (this wasn’t told to us directly, but is on their website when you go to look at the menu).

My only complaint and concern through the whole experience is that our bill should have been around $115 before 6% tax and the automatic 20% gratuity based on the advertised menu prices which would have been around $148 total max. However, we were presented with a handheld point of sale computer at the table. The server held the handheld in front of us and quickly scrolled through the receipt before proceeding to the checkout screen and setting the unit on the table. The screen displayed a $174 total on a new tip screen and the server indicated I should leave a tip if I wanted to, I quickly confirmed that the $174 total displayed included the automatic 20% or not? He confirmed it did already include the 20% and that I could just skip. I skipped, checked out, and we left wondering how the bill got to $174 so quickly. We have been to many other upscale dining experiences and spent the same for more food. I should have asked for a receipt before we left but didn’t quite register that there was a TWENTY-SEVEN dollar difference between what should have been the total vs what we were presented with as the total until I double checked our math in the truck.

Overall, I’m left with an uneasy feeling that we have been taken advantage of, but I hope not and encourage customers of this establishment to PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR BILL when closing out.

I would like to start by saying the customer service is top tier. We were seated quickly although we had a reservation, we didn’t need to alert him of it. The waiter/owner provided some great meal ideas for the appetizers. We tried the sample platter (not sure of its proper name) it was very delicious. The options of Mac and cheese or oxtails pasta wasn’t available at the moment and would take a while to be made so we opted out of those. I had the oxtail dinner for $40 ? in a red sauce that gave me very bad heartburn and the bigger oxtail was very tough to chew. Our total bill was over $240 and has a mandatory 20% fee on all orders. You aren’t able to swoop out the sides. You have to pay for a side order. The curry chicken my husband ordered did lack flavor. Although the ambience and host was fantastic, we will not be returning.

Fantastic dinner, but very $$$. We had the chicken sampler platter and oxtail. My only complaint would be the prices. With two dinners, one beef patty and one soup, water to drink, our tax in total was $150. Throw in a tip and this was $175. This is unreasonable in my opinion, the bill should have been half that.

AT, our server, was absolutely world-class. I knew from the moment he sat us that he actually cared about us having an excellent experience. Some of the best service I’ve ever had at a restaurant, without exaggeration. Knew the menu like the back of his hand and was next-level polite and accommodating.

Also, the brown stew chicken and carrots were both outta this world. Super authentic and flavorful, and crazy tender. I almost never leave reviews but this place is a true gem.

This is our third visit to Yah Mon within the last month. I must say we have the best experience each and every time. Their consistency, service, quality and value is worth the moment. You feel like you have a personalized experience with the host's undivided attention. The food flavor is unmatched. The dessert is bomb! I cannot get enough. Thank you Yah Mon! Chefs kiss!

My husband and I discovered this gem during a business trip, and it was outstanding. The service was phenomenal, and the food was DELICIOUS. My husband, who's rarely impressed, said it was some of the best oxtails he's ever had. Do yourself a favor and go!! We will be back.
